The Makah Transfer Station was a multifaceted project.  MLA provided the design for: 1) two new steel-framed shelters to be used for hazardous waste and recycling dropoff; 2) structural renovations of an existing masonry maintenance building; and 3) foundations for a new transfer building, scale facility, and administration building. Foundation designs required coordination with Contractor’s superstructures.  The Contractor provided pre-manufactured buildings as the superstructures for the latter 3 structures.  The transfer building foundation design included design of push walls, a compactor chute and a below-grade compactor bay.
